Gimmie Shelter Continuing Housing Co-operative Limited was originally incorporated in 1983 as a Non-profit Housing Co-operative under the ILM funding program. The homes are located on Park Street, Whitney Avenue and Brookland Street. The Co-op was not functioning as a co-op and did not have a proper governing Board in place. The Membership worked together to obtain a Board and in May of 2022 the Co-op Membership voted unanimously to amalgamate with Compass NS and become their seventh Neighbourhood.
