Compass Nova Scotia Co-operative Homes is pleased to announce that grand opening celebrations are being planned for two newly completed co-operative housing communities in Southwest Nova Scotia.
The celebrations will take place at:
- Heritage Hall Neighbourhood in Shelburne on September 25
- Barton School Neighbourhood in Digby County on September 26
The events will mark the completion of 13 new affordable co-operative homes across two communities, representing an important investment in rural housing and a significant step forward in expanding housing choice for Nova Scotians.
One celebration will recognize the transformation of a historic community building into a new co-operative housing neighbourhood, while the second will highlight the adaptive reuse of a former school property that has been reimagined as affordable homes for local residents. Together, these projects demonstrate how co-operative housing can preserve community assets while creating welcoming, affordable places to live.
