Compass NS was proud to see director Curtis Whiley deliver the keynote address at the CHF Canada AGM in Fredericton, NB. Curtis is the Founder and CEO of the Upper Hammonds Plains Community Land Trust.
He spoke about how community land trusts and housing co-ops can work together. His presentation showed how community land trusts and housing co-ops can help create and protect affordable housing. These partnerships can strengthen communities and help keep housing affordable for future generations.
Curtis will also be presenting on August 19 from 5–6 p.m. EDT for CHF Canada’s Growth Conversation Circle, a virtual discussion bringing together co-op leaders, housing developers, land trusts, community organizations and Peer Network members. It will be a meaningful discussion on advancing equitable housing opportunities and supporting the growth of co-operative housing in Black communities.
